Question:

CentSports.com and Multiple Accounts?

CentSports is this interesting gambling (sort of, you can't actually end up losing money in the long run) site. They have this additional system where if you invite someone to the site, he or she becomes your "crony" and you earn 2% of all this person's winnings.

My question is if these gambling sites have systems that prevent creating multiple accounts. I mean, what is to prevent me, or anyone, from creating 10 accounts and making them all cronies of my original account, and then earning the 2% interest from those?

One last point: I've thought about this a bit, and I thought that maybe you wouldn't really be earning more money with more accounts... after all, having more accounts and betting on a team would be equivalent to betting more money on a team with one account, and if you bet on both sides of a game... well, we know how that turns out. Also, with the 2% interest by inviting "friends" (who are really just multiple accounts) isn't that just the same thing as inviting friends?

  1. First of all.  I am one of the original users and beta testers for Centsports.com.  Signing up multiple accounts will not help you in the way you think because the crony system is not a "pyramid" system.  You get a bonus 5% for whatever your cronies win but you do not get anything for what your cronies-cronies win.  The only advantage is that your crony would have more money to bet with which will get you bigger bonuses.  Also you can only make so many bets per account and the video clips you watch to make your bets generate revenue for the site.. So really it dosent matter who is watching the videos they get paid either way.

As for the previous person who decided to be jealous of a great idea and make offensive comments.. You are quite wrong.  The creator of the site Victor..  is not a dropout.. He acutally holds a PhD in computer science from Texas A&M Univ.  However I have been told there are a few of his buddies who are contemplating dropping out to work with him on the site because of how much money is coming in.  They are already pushing 30,000 users and the site from referrals/word of mouth alone and the site has only been up for a few months.

  2. Is that 2% of what the player earns by betting 10 cents (, YOU do the math) or is it 2% of the "ad revenue" generated by the player?

Say you open 10 accounts, would they then spam you 10 times more?  Would you receive 10X the unwanted phone calls generated by their "ad revenue?"  I don't think that site is worth ANYBODY'S time, let alone going through the trouble of setting up 10 alter egos (and do you really want to be a cheater, anyway?).

I dunno, the whole site looks like it's put together by junior college dropouts...so they might be easy fodder for some of the more unscrupulous individuals out there--but I'll take a REAL sports betting site anyday.  Just my two cents.

  3. Is that you, Mr. Rongish?!  Its me, Brandon McCool!  But back on track...Ah, Jacques, you are so mis-informed...This site is run by a group of intelligent college graduates and students...To verbally abuse such a new site, (it was created in September), is quite unfair.  I have been a member since October and within a couple of weeks of joining, I had cashed out, and received quite promptly, $120.  The site is wonderful and keeps people like myself, interested in watching most sports games at night...And best of all, its free!
