My ex-husband was. Fortunately he wasn't allergic! His foot felt like it was on fire and it swelled up a bit. The doctor told him to ice and heat his foot, alternately. The pain subsided in a couple of hours and completely went away in a few days, but because of the swelling he had to swear slippers to work for a week (couldn't get his foot into a regular shoe).
