  1. Check the outside coil for dirt or blockage by seeds, fuzz, cotton wood, too.  Does the compressor run-- a hum besides the fan noises.  If you pull the front inside off and check the filter, the coil should be cold if the compressor is running and the coils are clean.  If there is frost on the coil it could be low on freon, or a dirty coil.  Frost comes first when you start to run out of freon.  Is the inside fan running or partially blocked, you might have to start taking thing apart to check  that.

  2. turn it off and then go outside and have someone turn it back on. Then listen to the unit to see if it kicks back on. It should make a different noise than with the fan on only. If it does not it is probably the compassator. Its best to have someone change it out that knows what they are doing.

  3. find the model of your ac and if you have a PC try and find something on line  and try what the first and  person had to say  could be iced up filter blocked  or low freon

    good luck m8

  4. I bet the farm she's frosted or frozen.Run the blower by itself for 30-45 minutes and leave the cool off. Then run it as normal and see if it starts to give you good cooling. If she was froze, causes are dirty filter, dirty coil, dirty blower wheel, blower runnning on wrong speed, metering device not feeding properly or low refrigerant charge.

    Good luck!

  5. I think it's time to contact your local AC repair company to trouble shoot your unit.

  6. It sounds like you need to check the freon level to see if it hasn't ran out or if the compressor hasn't frozen over either or your air filters are clogged. Check all three of those issues, if that doesn't work you need to call a professional to check it out.
