  1. This same thing happened to me last Tuesday ! Everything seemed to be normal. Breakers were on, thermostat was on, but the system wouldn't come on. I called my AC man, and he found that the circuit board in the air handler had fried itself. He went to the supply house and got a new board. Within 3 hrs it was up and running again. Haven't gotten his bill yet, so I don't know what the cost will be. My guess is between one and two hundred dollars.

  2. First and depending on the age of the home, many newer homes will have the outside breakers as well as the inside breakers for the unit and if they are okay and you have a meter I would start out by checking to make sure that you have power going to the outside unit………

  3. Recheck the breaher for the a/c unit& take a good like at the thermostatand make sure that it has'nt been hit or that it's unlever. Most a/c units have a breaker in the main breaker box and one close to the a/c unit that have long fuse's in it and one of them may have blown.Usaully you here a loud nosie of something is major with the unit it self.
