Central Districts v Northern Districts – HRV Cup, 2012/13 – Match Update – Central Districts win by 43 runs
An all-round display from the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Northern-Districts-c825 Knights, in their match during the ongoing HRV Cup, played at the Pukekura Park in New Plymouth,
on December 29.
The Knights won the toss and chose to field first, but were unable to make much headway against the Stags, who worked their way up to a solid 186.
Opening batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Sinclair-c2029 (71) and Will Young (57) both managed to get the team back on track with a 111-run partnership
for the second wicket.
Their combined efforts saw the team total climbing up to 149, after which both batsmen were dismissed in successive overs – Sinclair off Steven Croft in the 15th over, and Young off http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Anton-Devcich-c1067 in the 16th.

managed to end by posting a daunting final total of 186.
The team then followed it up with a solid bowling performance, with all five bowlers in the attack managing to pick up at least one wicket each, while http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Tarun-Nethula-c2647 (4-0-24-2) remained the chief contributors.
The Knights, on the other hand, underwent a complete batting order collapse, which saw just three batsmen surpassing single digits. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Brad-Wilson-c1187 (15) and
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Steven-Croft-c2583 (22) were unable to take much advantage from their starts, succumbing easily to Bevan Small and Nethula respectively.
Faltering under the force of the Stags’ bowling attack, the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Knights-c805 eventually succumbed all out at 143, and the Central Districts Stags went on to claim a comprehensive victory, by a margin of 43 runs.
