Central ac leaking water on floor. My ac is leaking water on the floor inside of my house. I poured bleach down the pvc pipe and it still is leaking. I turned my ac off. Is there anything I can do or should I call a repair man? Help! Very hot in South Alabama!

  1. turn it back on,

look in the drain pan for the drain hole run a flexible rod or use a small drain cleaner snake to unplug it,

then buy some chlorine tablets [at a swimming pool dealer]  and place one in the pan a month,

  2. make sure your filter is clean..and call a repair man your pipe is clogged somewhere we have a pipe coming out of the ceiling of our front porch our builder told us if it were leaking to call him as it should never leak..our unit is in the attic....so im thinking you have a serious problem do not ever pour bleach into a pipe like that..you could have bleach all over your house....

  3. Your condensate drain pipe is plugged.

Warm air loses the water vapor it carries when cooled.  The water collects in a pan built into the coil and runs to the exterior.  A second line also runs as a back up, and is sometimes terminated over a window or up high so you'll notice it, which means there is a problem.

A blast of pressurized air or water should blow the main line back open.  Insects sometimes build nests inside the lines, plugging them.
