Central air conditioner unit?

well we've been having a problem wit ours, for some reason its not throwing out any cold air at all just like warm/hot the day before we thought it might have frozen so we turned it off then we tried it again but just hot warm air was coming out. any one have any suggestions, or have faced this problem before?

  1. Have you cleaned the evaporator coils or changed the filter?Do that first


  2. It might be low on freon. You might need to call out an HVAC tech to check it out.

  3. Make sure your outside unit (condenser) is running when you turn on the a/c. Maybe a breaker tripped. It does happen.You turned it off overnight and still no cold. It is not freezing up. If the outside unit is running and you don't blow cold you need service call.

  4. Unless you have the tools and knowledge call a serviceman, check your breakers first!

  5. Take a peak at what's running or not running outside to at least narrow the problem down some.

    If she is froze,turning it off won't do a l**k of good unless you leave it off for 6 hours.You have to force air across it by turning the cool off and turning your blower on for 45 minutes.
