Central air is not blowing inside. Stuck switch?

Outside kicks on fine. No debris inside. In my basement, where the filter is, I can feel the cool air passing through into the main unit. Fans inside house do not kick on though.

It is a Luxaire model.

There is a fault light that always stays red, but flickers twice periodically. Fault instructions say that the pressure switch is stuck closed. So.. Where is the pressure switch and how do I "unstick" it?

  1. The pressure switch has to do with the heating cycle and should not be indicating that in cooling.

If the blower is not running in the furnace when the A/C is on you have a problem with the motor or its control.

  2. If the humidity has been high and the air conditioner has been running cotinually you may want to turn up the thermostat until you hear it go off, then turn the fan on run and leave it alone for a while.  Keep your eye on it and check after a while to see if the condensation is running off the H coil.  If it is and it should be considerable than you have probably set your thermostate too low and the coil may have frozen over.  Also it is EXTREMELY important to clean the filters.  If they are dirty that will make the unit freeze up.  write me if U need to again....

  3. I don't think that you have any stuck switches it is either a bad compacitor on the fan motor or a bad motor. To find out which touch the fan motor to see if it is hot it should not be...next you will have to find the capacitor and tey a new one...If all else fails call a A>C>service Company to check your electrical...
