Why would water be leaking from the condenser housing? The house is on a slab so the drain just goes to the bottom of the housing. Shouldn't the water evaporate?

  1. Is the water inside the house or outside near the compressor?  There will be condensation at the coil in the house and the drain should go from the coil pan to a floor drain.  If it is leaking elsewhere, look for a plugged pan drain.

  2. The gas in the suction line is below the dew point temp of the air and will condensate heavily.Nothing to worry about. It's normal.

  3. The condesate drain is ran under the slab like plumbing or thru the wall it must exit some outside or it will connect to a plumbing drain, you can use air pressure to clear the line and for regular maintenance pour a cup of bleach into the condensate drain once a month to keep fungus and algea from growing in it

  4. The water is leaking because the pan drain is stopping up from slime or algae. This should be corrected by using a garden hose and forcing water from the pan out the drain with the force from the pressure of a nozzle on the hose. It will be too much water being removed from the air to evaporate. This is why there is a drain going to the outside or into your house drains.
