I live in a mobile home, and I have had my central air worked on last week with a new compresser installed. The air blows out cold from the vents however it does NOT get cool in the house. I have put thermostats on the vents and the thermostats register at 60.....The other thermostats are away from the vents just in the room and the registers at 90 or 91. I need some help soon. So anything would be a help right now. Thank you

  1. The temp difference is too big it should be around 18 degree temp difference. The evap coil is the first place to look and if dirty have it cleaned. A dirty evap coil will kill a compressor because it the comp is eating liquid refrigerant and will wash the oil out of the crank case of the compressor and a liquid can not be compressed it will break things or bend them in the compressor. The ducts could be crushed or full of  water,  slowing down the air flow thru the evap coil. Compressor go bad for a reason and the tech must find the reason or it will fail again.

  2. The cool air is probably escaping through the windows or someth. Bec I had this problem where I had to get a new compressor.

Make sure you close your closets. A lot of times they're not inuslated and leak air both hot air into the house and cold air out.

  3. You mean thermometers at the vents ? It sounds like it's low on charge.I wouldn't be quick to say that but considering the compressor was changed last week.Maybe there is a small leak at the brazed connections.

The best way for you to check is to put a thermometer around where the filter is located, but not inside the unit. Then put a thermometer in a vent in the middle of your mobile home.

If you subtract these two different readings from the thermometers, that is called your split.

It should be between 16-20 degrees.

If it is lower than 15 degrees, give them a call because something is wrong.

If it is between 16 and 20 degrees,it's doing all it can.

Try running your fan ONLY for 30 minutes in case it's frosted up.Then run it as normal and see if you can get some better cooling till the repair people get there.

  4. Is the cool air escaping someplace? Try to plug up any holes, or places that could be letting the cool air out. Check your windows and make sure they are not letting the air out.
