  1. Are you  installing under floor heating ?

Are you running to radiators ?

the answer to both is NO

Make ssure you pressure test before you lay the floor, can be hired out from most hire centres

    plumber

  2. We used compression joints on a underfoor heating system and they worked fine however it wasn't in contact with concrete.

  3. Underfloor heating pipes come in huge rolls, and do not have joins. all connections are in an adjacent compartment where they are accessible.

  4. They can

I use the John Guest pipe and fittings though

The John Guest fittings can be tightened and are very good and I have used them before on heating systems

What you gain in ease of fitting you lose in the cost of the products

Dont forget the inserts if you are picking up on compression fittings, or the pipe will collapse

  5. as a builder...its a definite NO

  6. NO!!

  7. No - you should either avoid joints all together or weld.

  8. Simple question and a simple answer No!!

  9. water regs state that all fittings must be able to be examined.

so you could use compression fittings, gunmetal or dzr as they are concealed but the pipe and fittings must be in an openable 'trench' so they can be examined and removed/replaced/repaired

  10. i would, dont forget to put metal inserts in the ends of the pipe before you joint them together. check your pipes for leaks and wrap it all in plastic sacks before you lay the concrete. this will stop the concrete decroding your pipes over the years.

  11. here are some interesting links.I feel radiant heat is by far more efficient.

    Good luck
