  1. Jessica,

I am finishing my nurse anesthesia residency now.  I can tell you to try and take all of the chemistry, biology, physics, etc in high school that you can.  Also try to take the honor level or advanced level courses if you high school offers them.  In college you will start in the nursing track, but try to take as many science courses, especially organic chemistry and biochemistry as you can as well because they are often required for entry into nurse anesthesia programs and may not be require in for your nursing degree.  Make sure to maintain a general and science GPA of above 3.5 because nurse anesthesia school is very competetive.  Work in a large ICU after you graduate for a couple of years.  Get as many certifications as you can while you are in the ICU,  and work on taking your GRE exam, which you will need to score well on, also.  Hope that helps.  Good choice of career and good luck!
