I've heard that all people in year 8 are getting the cervical cancer jab from the nhs. I have just gone into year 9 so do I not get this jab?

  1. Oh yeah, I'm in a similar situation to you.

And our school said we were getting it

    in year 11/12.

So you'll get it to the most likely.

As all girls are gonna get it.

  2. Don't worry, all girls aged 13-18 who would miss the jab will be offered it.

From autumn 2008, the vaccine will be offered every year to 12- to 13-year-old girls (school year 8).

A three-year catch-up programme will also start from autumn 2008 and will offer the vaccine to older girls aged 13-18.

To find out exactly when people your age will get the jab, go to the following link http://www.immunisation.nhs.uk/files/HPV...

    Hope that helps!

  3. I heard that too, I think all young girls should have the opportuity to have it I heard that you can get it from your GP but have to pay. I have three teenage girls past year 8 I think they should have it.

  4. You will be entitled to the jab.Either the schools will provide it or you will be able to have it done at your local surgery. Just give your surgery a ring to se if they will be calling you up and when x

  5. I would love to know this to my mum says they are doing it for y8 at the moment and y9 at a later date but weather she is right or not i don't know .x

  6. I've just gone into year nine and I was thinking the same thing. If we don't then I'm worried, they should be giving them to all teens, its stupid that we just missed them. I'm gonna look on the internet.

  7. Well I'm In 2nd Year (Sorry "Year8")

And My School is Only Doing It To The 2nd, 5th And 6th Years

    You Will Get It Eventually.

  8. Your age group should be included in the jab, but if not, they are making it available to people who have just missed it as well. I know this because my sister's getting it (she's in year 10), but I'm just outside the age range so I don't.

  9. Yes you will, it is being extended to all females up to 17

  10. You should ask your doctor for this jab. I personally think that every girl in secondary school should get it.

  11. Ask your GP if you can have it I don't see why they would say no.

  12. when you are in year 11 if you live in england.  Information from the daily mirror (today). more information available on nhs website

  13. my mum wants mine done

cuz most ppl in my family have got it

nd im goin in yr 11
