Question:

Cervical Cells Changes...?

by  |  earlier

My sister had a pap smear that has come back with Stage 3 pre-cancerous cell changes.

She has not had any kids yet and is worried if this will effect her fertility.

She is seeing a specialist in 2 weeks to organise to have surgery, but I am just looking for any stories that might make her feel better in the meantime.

Thanks.

  1. I too had cervical cell changes about two years ago. Mine were stage two and eventually, after many biopsy's and "scrapes", I had a pap come back fine about a year ago. A friend of mine had a similar situation as your sisters with stage three and they just told her that she may have a hard time conceiving but not always and that she may not be able to carry full term because of part of her cervix being gone. It all depends if they end up taking some of your sisters cervix, I guess. Best of luck to her!

  2. a friend of mine had a partial hysterectomy lost a tube and an ovary and went on to have two more kids here's hoping there's good news for your sister as well poor thing

  3. as long as her uterus and ovaries are intact she should be ok just may be watched more due to her cervix being thinner good luck
