Cervix Questions????

Is there any way you can tell if you have dilated, effaced, or thinned out besides having the dr check you? I had mine check me a week ago, and she was very rough, when I said something to her, she said "Becareful what you ask for". So needless to say, I want to avoid getting another exam from her, but I am still curious, as I am due in 5 days! Thanks in advance!

Btw, she is not the dr that will be delivering my child, she is a MW at the office I go to to get my prenatal care.

  1. I don't beleive theres any way for you to know short of an exam. What a wench though, you should make a complaint.

  2. there is a way but is dangerous. unless you know what you are feeling for then you wouldn't know if you've changed. just ask for a different dr. to check you or you can go to the hospital and they can check you.

  3. Of course you can, you just need to look it up. I would definately put a complaint in against her, my midwife has always been so lovely.
