The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 player has credited Les Phoceens for making him a better player and is of the view that his two years with the nine-time champions of France will help him a lot in the Premier League
The Spaniard spent two years at Stade Velodrome making 47 appearances for Marseille before moving to European champions, Chelsea FC, in the summer of 2012. The full-back has been in fine form for the London giants this season, and has credited his former
club for making him a player he is now.
Cesar Azpilicueta was talking to reporters and when asked about the difference between the English Premier League and Ligue 1, the 23-year-old said that both leagues are very competitive but the Premier League is more physical as compared to the French league.
"It's more physical here (than in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899) and the rhythm is higher," the defender told L'Equipe.
Talking about the intensity of games in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749, the Spaniard said that playing for Chelsea is amazing and the game is very fast and intense here. Azpilicueta added that Marseille has helped him a lot and he is now very strong mentally.
"Sometimes, in the second half, it's a little bit mad but my two years at OM have helped me adapt. The pressure is the same.”
The former Osasuna player added that at Chelsea, we play to win each and every trophy and the pressure is immense. Playing for Les Phoceens has helped the right-back to cope with the pressure and the 23-year-old is thankful for that.
"At Marseille, we had to win every game, at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 too. The difference is that here we play to win each and every trophy. I came here for that and to grow as a player.”
Talking about his lack of first team opportunities at Stamford Bridge, Cesar Azpilicueta said that getting regular action while playing for a club like Chelsea is not easy, but the defender is happy with the way things are going for him at the moment.
"When you arrive at the European champions, you don't expect to be a first-team regular that quickly. I've worked hard to be able to hope to do that.”
