The young Spaniard is on the brink of securing a move to Chelsea from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 who are in dire need of cash to do some activity in the transfer market
With each passing day, it becomes clear that Spanish international, Cesar Azpilicueta will leave Ligue 1 side Olympique de Marseille.
Heavily courted by English Premier League giants http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 FC, the former Osasuna right-back still has to wait until the Marseille and Chelsea management reach a mutual agreement for the player’s sale. However, it now appears that the player might not have
to wait that long as the deal is almost done.
La Provence has not yet specified if the deal will include the arrival of young Gael Kakuta to the Velodrome or not but it has been confirmed that the deal will be finalised later today.
Azpilicueta will most likely attend his last training session at the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robert-c31222 Louis-Dreyfus training centre today and will then board a flight to London where he will put pen to paper on a five-year contract. The player’s representatives are already in London,
finalising the finer points of the deal.
For their part, Marseille, through their chief executive, Philippe Perez, have already signed the necessary documents for the player’s sale. Reports claim that Les Phoceens will earn between 8 and 10 million euros for the talented right-back.
Initially, Chelsea offered Marseille 7.5 million euros for the 22-year-old Iberian. However, the club has reviewed its offer which now suits the Canebiere club.
But if everything seems to be settled, OM have not yet made any plans to use the money received from Azpilicueta’s sale in the transfer market.
So far this summer, the club has only managed to acquire the services of Florian Raspentino who signed for the Rhone giants as a free agent.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alou-Diarra-c5259 was sold to West Ham United a few days back but Marseille are yet to spend money on a new transfer target.
The departure of Azpilicueta would indeed be a big blow for Marseille as the youngster was one of the star performers for the club last season, a campaign in which the club finished 10th.
