Cesar Cielo, Kirsty Coventry and Thiago Pereira impress at the Maria Lenk Trophy

On the second day of the Maria Lenk Trophy, many swimmers captivated the attention of the crowd due to their stunning performances in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Wednesday.
In the Men’s 50m freestyle final event, Cesar Cielo took home the golden crown with the fastest time of 21.95 seconds. Meanwhile, Bruno Fratus took the silver with a 22.20 seconds effort and Nicholas Dos Santos grabbed the bronze with a time of 22.50 seconds.
Previously, Cielo won the Men’s 200m free relay final with a stunning time of 21.73 seconds.
Cielo has been a gold medallist in the Men’s 50m freestyle event at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Besides, he has won the 4 gold titles in the 2009 and 2010 World Championship editions, respectively. Moreover, Cielo won 3 gold medals at the 2007 Pan
American Games.
On the other hand, Kirsty Coventry picked up the top in the Women’s 400m Individual Medley (IM) meet with a winning time of 4:37.21 minutes and moved into the third place in the world rankings. Mireia Belmonte is on the second place with a time of 4:34.91
minutes and Li Xuanxu is on the third place with a time of 4:35.73 minutes in the world rankings. Belmonte took the silver in 4:41.45 minutes and Georgina Bardach captured the bronze in 4:49.22 minutes.
Meanwhile, the Men’s 400m IM title was clinched by Thiago Pereira with a sterling time of 4:12.52 minutes. Henrique Rodrigues took the second place with a time of 4:22.98 minutes, whereas, Diogo Yabe finished third in a time of 4:23.57 minutes.

In the Women’s 50m freestyle final, Jessica Hardy took home the golden crown with a time of 24.80 seconds and moved into the fifth place in the world rankings. On the other side, Flavia Delaroli-Cazziolato snared the silver tile with a time of 25.48 seconds
and Alessandra Marchioro wound up third in a time of 25.90 seconds.
Jessica Cavalheiro clinched the Women's 200m free final with a sterling time of 2:03.00 minutes. Meanwhile, Virginia Bardach Martin picked the second spot with a time of 2:03.16 minutes and Larissa Oliveira was placed third in 2:03.66 minutes.
Last, but not the least, the Men’s 200m freestyle title was taken over by Ous Mellouli with a winning time of 1:50.01 minutes, while Nicolas Oliveira rounded the top two in 1:50.37 minutes and Vinicius Waked captured the third place in a time of 1:50.59
minutes.
