Cesar Gracie: Nick Diaz will not take on Carlos Condit again – UFC news
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fanatics witnessed the drop scene of Nick Diaz-Carlos Condit rematch extravaganza when Cesar Gracie, manager of Nick Diaz, clearly said on Thursday that there will be no sequel to the UFC 143 bout in which Carlos
nailed Diaz emphatically.
The buzz took the whole UFC universe on fire when Cesar shared his thoughts that Nick should come back and must not take a harsh decision of retiring from his sport.
As soon as these comments came in, within just 24 hours, UFC president Dana White revealed that a rematch is under consideration and that both camps are almost close to sign the deal.
Each and every UFC fan was thrilled to hear this tiding by then came out the most unanticipated news which not only cleared the mist of confusion but also sealed the fact that Nick is definitely close to getting retirement and Cesar’s view point was just
a sincere advice to a friend.
Cesar told ESPN in a very short interview that hype should not be created at all about the fact that Nick is again coming in the octagon to settle the score. He told the sports icon that he does not want to share or disclose the reason behind his denial
on behalf of his client but he is ready to assure the fact that Nick is not going to take on Carlos again.
Gracie commented, “Yeah, I said that [there will be no rematch]. But that's all I can say. I can't say anything else. I can't do anything. Quote that if you want to. There is not going to be a rematch. Other than that, that's all I can say.”
The statement created waves of shock among the UFC fans who were counting on to see the two prolific brawlers set up another great show.
At the moment no comment has been put forth by the UFC management even Dana White is silent on the statement and has not uttered a single comment since he was the only guy who told the world that both camps are close to signing a Nick-Carlos II bout.
Nick and Carlos entered the octagonal ring on February 4, 2012 to decide who will be the interim UFC welterweight champion. The five-round bout ended and Carlos was able to capture a unanimous win over Diaz after which the latter in a heartfelt mood said
that he might leave UFC forever. It seems that Nick was true to his words. Any comments from the UFC and Dana are still awaited.
