Cesare Prandelli hints at Giuseppe Rossi start and tags Spain as favourites for the tie
Italian National team manager, Cesare Prandelli, has hinted that he might start Villarreal striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Giuseppe-Rossi-c15027, in the friendly game against Spain on Wednesday, 10th August, 2011.
Manchester City striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Antonio-Cassano-c6302, started upfront in Italy’s last fixture but were ineffective. Prandelli believes that Rossi’s recent performances for his club might get him the nod
to take on the World Champions.
Prandelli further added that Cassano needs to work hard on his fitness to re-claim his place in the national team. However, Balotelli’s non serious attitude on and off the pitch might get him in trouble if he does not change himself.
“At the moment Rossi is ahead of everyone else. He’s playing with the consistency and the assuredness of a first team starter. Cassano? He has worked well with Milan. He’s lost 3.5kg since he started pre-season training."
The former Manchester United man had a wonderful 2010/11 campaign with the Yellow Submarine and scored 32 goals in 56 games in all competitions.
The 53-year-old is confident that his team has the quality to beat Spain and is curious to see his team’s performance against the best side in the world.
