The Italian national team head coach went on to give words of encouragement to Cassano over his future and encouraged him to play an important role in the World Cup.
In an interview with Corriere dello Sport, Cesare Prandelli went on to comment on the prospects of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 striker,
and he was given a chance in nearly all of the matches that the Italians played in the European Championships.
Cassano returned the favour by putting in the hard work and making sure that he was of added value to the team. His creativity and ability to pair up with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 reaching the finals
of the European Championships.
Prandelli’s appreciation for the striker can be seen by the fact that even when Cassano was recovering from his heart surgery, Prandelli had stated that he would be waiting till the last minute for the striker to recover.
Even though the striker was unable to play the full extent of ninety minutes in the European Championships, the former Fiorentina boss felt that the striker gave them an additional edge.
The Azzurri national team head coach was quizzed about his opinion over the future of Antonio Cassano and he stated that despite the fact that Cassano was great in the European Championships, the onus is on the former Sampdoria striker to prove his worth
in the upcoming qualifiers.
He further went on to state that Cassano was a young player and he had time on his hands, for the time being, and went on to remark:
“Two years ago, he [Cassano] was great in qualifying for the Euros, even when he could only play an hour. But now I have to think about the World Cup qualifiers, and it all depends on him. If Cassano plays continuously, he is relatively young and can still
compete. I’m not cold towards him, but sincere and loyal with my players. And this applies to everyone else.”
The World Cup qualifiers would be starting soon and Prandelli will be looking to embed his philosophy onto the Italian team for the extravaganza in Brazil.
