The Azzurri chief sidelines all speculation of a move to Serie A, stating that his agreement with the Federation lasts until 2014, and he wants to continue serving the national side.
Cesare Prandelli has voiced his allegiance to Italian football team, insisting that he wants to continue at his current position until the end of his contract in 2014.
The Azzurri manager recently admitted that he misses the day to day affairs of a football club, and the statement has fuelled rumours of a potential move away from his current position.
The former Fiorentina manager insisted that he has a lasting contract with the Italian football federation FIGC, and he does not intend to rescind it. The veteran stated that he is aware that the future of a manager is only as
good as the results he keeps, but insisted that he wants to continue his project with his national side.
While talking to the Corriere della Sera, the 54-year-old said:
“I have a contract with the Federation up until June 2014 and I intend to respect it. I want to continue even if I am aware that the future of Coaches is dependent on results.”
The Azzurri flew smoothly through the qualification stage, but their strength has been substantially weakened by some vital injuries.
