Cesc Fabrégas hints at Barcelona move and Landon Donovan wants Premier League return

Arsenal captain Cesc Fabrégas has said he still wants to return to Barcelona.

The Spaniard revealed his conversation with manager Arsène Wenger before the World Cup was one of the best he has had in his life. Barcelona have been trying all summer to bring Fabrégas to the Camp Nou, but Arsenal are not willing to let him leave.

Liverpool striker David Ngog will not leave Anfield this summer, with manager Roy Hodgson saying he will stay despite interest from other clubs. Meanwhile, Luke Young’s move to Liverpool from Aston Villa has fallen through because he was unwilling to take a £10,000-a-week pay cut.

Mario Balotelli’s move to Manchester City remains a long way off, as a fee and personal terms have yet to be agreed by Manchester City and Inter Milan. Balotelli would cost Man City around £25million, but his departure from the Italian and European champions looks inevitable.

Croatia striker Ivan Klasnić will make a permanent switch to Bolton Wanderers after having a loan spell at the Reebok last season, while Queens Park Rangers and Coventry City are in the hunt to sign Marlon King, who was released from prison yesterday after serving nine months for sexual assault.

Stoke City striker James Beattie is wanted by West Bromwich Albion, Blackburn and Sheffield United, who are in a £1.5million battle to sign the 32-year-old.

New Fulham manager Mark Hughes will attempt to buy Craig Bellamy, Stephen Ireland and Roque Santa Cruz, who all look set to leave Manchester City in this transfer window. Hughes will also make a move for West Ham goalkeeper Robert Green if Mark Schwarzer makes the move to Arsenal.

Landon Donovan has said he would like to have another loan spell at Everton, while Celtic playmaker Aiden McGeady is wanted by Russian side Spartak Moscow. McGeady was left out of Celtic’s Champions League qualification defeat against Braga, fuelling speculation of a move away from Scotland.
