Cesc Fabrégas ruled out of Chelsea game
Arsenal captain Cesc Fabrégas will miss the crunch showdown with Chelsea on Sunday after failing to recover from a hamstring injury.
Manager Arsène Wenger said earlier in the week that Fabrégas had “a little hope” of facing the Premier League champions, but reports suggest Wenger will not play him risking further damage.
Fabrégas picked up the injury in Arsenal’s 1-1 draw against Sunderland a few weeks ago after scoring a freak goal, where he charged down Anton Ferdinand’s pass.
Wenger already has plenty of injuries to deal with, with Robin van Persie, Nicklas Bendtner, Theo Walcott, Thomas Vermaelen, Aaron Ramsey, Manuel Almunia and Abou Diaby already sidelined.
