Cesc Fabregas - I will not leave Arsenal without silverware
Arsenal young skipper, Cesc Fabregas, claims that will not leave the North London giants until he helps the Gunners win silverware.
The 23-year-old attacking midfielder, who scored last gasp penalty in Arsenal’s FA Cup third round 1-1 draw against Leeds United on the weekend, was heavily linked with a return to Spanish Giants Barcelona in the summers transfer window. Fabregas has also
publicly admitted that it is his dream to play for his boyhood club.
However, the Spanish captain of Arsenal also claimed that first he wants to help his team win silverware before fulfilling his dream of joining Barcelona.
Fabregas insists that it is wonderful to be at Arsenal and is hopeful that his team will win silverware even though the Gunners have not won a single trophy in almost five years.
The World Cup winner said that it would be a dream for him to lift trophies for Arsenal. Cesc added that it has always been his wish to win a medal with the Gunners.
The young skipper also said: “Afterwards you can always be attracted by something else, like a new objective, or new challenges because, for me, life is all about challenges.”
Cesc Fabregas continued that his main aim as Arsenal’s captain is to bring success to his team. The footballer said, "This is the biggest dream I can have. I want to end these five years without a trophy and, hopefully, I can do it this season."
The 23-year-old Gunners’ captain was blamed to deliberately underperform earlier in the season after his dream move to Barcelona was halted by Arsenal.
But Cesc Fabregas, who was Arsenal’s top scorer and assist holder of the last season, rubbished such claims and admitted the he was offended by such things.
The Gunners captain in this regard said, "It hurt me a lot to be injured and then hear some things, that my head was not here and my heart was somewhere else. I often played when I wasn't 100 per cent and it is painful to hear that kind of thing when you
have worked so hard for this club and when you give everything for them."
Despite being injured in the starting months of this season, Cesc Fabregas has featured in 19 games for Arsenal and has managed to find the net 7 times.
