Cesc Fabregas out for 3 weeks & Obinna looking to stay longer at West Ham

Cesc Fabregas, the Arsenal captain has been ruled out for up to three week following his hamstring injury last weekend against Sunderland. Earlier the Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger had said that he cannot be sure about the extent
of injury of his captain and would make a call later on. The world cup winning Spanish midfielder will not be available to the club for at least 3 Premier League matches,  that also include the all important London derby between Arsenal and Chelsea that is
scheduled to take place on 3rd of October.
Fabregas suffered the injury as he scored one the freakiest goals one would ever see in football. The Sunderland defender Anton Ferdinand after keeping hold of the ball for a bit longer than he would have liked, decided to clear
it abruptly as Fabregas was closing in on him. The defender kicked the ball hard towards Fabregas and it took a rebound and looped into the back of the net beating the keeper Robert Green who was slightly off his line.
Arsenal’s manager has been hampered with injuries to his key players this season, and with players like Theo Walcott, Robin Van Persie and Nicklas Bendtner already on the injury list it would not be easy for the team to cope without
their captain.
Arsenal has not won any silverware in more than 5 seasons, the gunners were believed to be serious title contenders every season in the first half of this decade. Their last title win came in 2003-04 season when they won the league
without losing a single match. It is famously known as the invincible season, however after that an FA cup win in 2005 is all Wenger has to show for his efforts.
Players like Thierry Henry and then club captain Patrick Vierra left due to lack of trophies and especially lack of success in Europe. The Arsenal fans and board have kept faith with Wenger and his policy of sticking with the youngsters.
However there are no tangible results achieved, and soon the patience from both fronts may run out soon.
A number of his young players who he has worked on over the years have also been on the radar of big clubs, and once again if the team does not win any silverware few of them may exit the Emirates. Cesc Fabregas was famously involved
in the biggest transfer saga of the summer. Barcelona tried all they could to get their man but Wenger managed to hang on to his prized possession but it would not be long before Fabregas opens the door for number of other promising players to leave the club.
Meanwhile in another London club West Ham, the loan signing for the new season Victor Obinna has indicated that he would be happy to make his move permanent at Upton Park.
Obinna was brought to West Ham on a loan deal in the summer from Italian and European champions Inter Milan. Obinna had been out of favour in Italy and at West Ham he has been getting regular first team football,  so he has said
that if he is not assured a place in the starting XI at Inter he would be happy to stay in London.
Obinna, the international from Nigeria has been impressive in his first 2 matches with the Hammers. Team manager Avram Grant also said that he is happy with what he has seen so far, and if possible he would love to have him at
the club on permanent basis. Obinna is currently on a 6 month loan at West Ham, and said that he is finding English style of football more to his liking and has not had much trouble settling in London.
