Arsenal Captain Cesc Fabregas has said that his team lacks confidence and winning mentality which makes them suffer against big teams.
Fabregas believes that the Gunners are afraid of losing in big matches which lowers their confidence and causes them to suffer in crunch games.
Cesc Fabregas has pointed out a big fact in Arsenal’s recent history in which they have failed to win any silverware. The Gunners have always done well in the league but they always fall short of their target. Arsene Wenger, the manager of Arsenal, has adopted
a particular philosophy at Arsenal, with the unique blend of attractive and attacking football. It has acquired a lot of admiration from football circles but is not being backed by enough silverware. Arsenal start their season on a high note but seem to run
out of gas towards the ending half.
It is considered very important for a team to do well against its rivals in order to win the league. With many teams capable of challenging for the English Premier League title, sometimes the results of the matches played among themselves makes the difference
in the end. This is the area where Arsenal really has had problems and the Gunners failed once again this year.
Arsenal has lost their last four league games against Chelsea, the current EPL champions, including the game played this season. The record is more astonishing against Manchester United, as Arsenal has won only 1 games in the last 10 played against their
rivals, losing the last game by 1-0. It was obvious from the game that Arsenal was suffering from Old Trafford phobia, as they were dominated by United in every aspect of the game. Arsenal did win their match against Manchester City, another title contender,
but they failed against Tottenham Hotspur. Therefore, the record is not worthy of team that is going for the top position in English Premier League.
The Arsenal http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Captain-c8314 pointed out that the confidence of being the unbeaten team in English Premier League really helped Manchester United players to play with a positive mentality. Fabregas stressed the importance of a positive mentality and said that the
Gunners were afraid of losing on that night which played in their head, causing them to lose the game eventually.
The real problem is that the victory for Manchester United looked more like a victory for Sir Alex Ferguson against his counterpart Arsene Wenger. It was obvious that Wenger was tactically outmanoeuvred which shows that the Arsenal manager was scared of
losing as well.
Rather than adopting the usual attacking style of Arsenal, throwing a lot of bodies in the box, Wenger made his team to stay back, waiting for United to make a mistake instead. It was a big gamble for Arsenal to stay defensive, because the team is really
not engineered to serve that purpose. As soon as Arsenal showed the defensive mentality, Wenger handed over the match to United.
These matches would really create problems for Arsenal towards the end of the English Premier League. There were some easy points up for grabs but Arsenal slipped at significant moments. The problem is really with the winning mentality of the players.
Arsene Wenger still has an opportunity to prove his team’s worth in the match against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, which would be played during the last week of December. Arsenal need to get better results against big teams in order to assert their superiority and improve their
credentials as the title contenders as well.
