Cesc Fabregas says he doesn’t dive
Arsenal’s captain Cesc Fabregas, has gone on to get back at Wigan manager, Roberto Martinez. The Wigan manager was previously reported to have said that Fabregas was a player, who knew how to buy decisions off referees. However the Spaniard has gone on to
state that he is not that kind of guy.
Martinez came forth and hit at the Arsenal captain, after his team suffered a crushing three goal to nil defeat. In the game, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gary-Caldwell-c14440. The resulting
spot-kick did not result in a goal, but it had Martinez fuming and at the edge of his seat.

The kick was taken by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380, who skied his effort. However the Dutchman went on to complete his hat-trick in the game later on.
Nonetheless the manager reserved his comment for the Arsenal midfielder. The manager went on to state the player was very clever and then stated: "Cesc comes from a different culture - you do not cheat, if you take a decision from the referee it is because
you are clever and you are getting something for your team."
However Fabregas didn’t hold back and went on to set the record straight, while writing his programme notes for the Carling Cup semi-final game against Ipswich, which Arsenal also won by a score line of three goals to nil.

Fabregas wrote: "I saw Roberto Martinez's comment that I might have employed some gamesmanship to win the penalty.
"I don't know why he said that - he is a fellow Catalan and we have had some dinners together at the Spanish Embassy, so I was very surprised because he has said himself that he knows me well, in which case he should know that I am not the kind of guy that
dives.
"Believe me, no player wanted to score more than I did on Saturday."
During the game against Wigan, Fabregas was back to his level best once again. He was controlling the pace of the game and pulling things together in the middle of the pitch, as though he could play better than everyone else even in his sleep.
There were a number of instances in the game, when Fabregas showed more maturity to his game and went on to display his dribbling abilities. In simple words Fabregas was being the midfield general that he is.
On the other hand, throughout the game the Wigan players seemed to be picking out the Gunners talismanic midfielder. Which is why the fact that Martinez went on to state that Fabregas was diving to an extent, is rather inexplicable at this point. Just what
the manager was signalling is rather unclear.
It is understandable for the manager to be furious because his side were destroyed by Arsenal. However, calling Fabregas a diver is a little harsh and rather uncalled for.
Nonetheless Fabregas doesn’t seem to have take these comments to heart, as the player was back to his best against Ipswich once again and as we already know, Arsenal cruised to victory in that game.
