The Cameroonian star joined Barcelona during the most recent summer transfer window and Cesc Fabregas believes that the former Arsenal player will excel in the future.
Barcelona were having troubles in the defensive area and the new coach, Tito Vilanova, decided to sign at least two defensive minded players.

However, Song has not been able to impress the fans in the new-found role even though he has played in that position before.

Alex Song and Cesc Fabregas were together back in North London when both these players played their part in the Premier League club, Arsenal.

The Spanish midfielder is of the opinion that Alex Song is a very consistent performer and whenever he plans on doing something, he achieves it.

“As for Alex, I’m convinced he will become a great central defender with Barcelona. He has always done what he said he would and has not come here to complain or to demand a first-team spot.”
Both the players are currently fighting for a spot in the Barcelona line-up and while Cesc Fabregas has made his way into the first team, Alex Song is still trying his best to follow in the footsteps of his friend.
