Cesc Fabregas speaks out on summer speculation
Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas has spoken out about the summer of speculation that surrounded him during the transfer window. The Gunners captain spoke of his dream to play for Barcelona,
but explained that his relationship with current boss Arsene Wenger has prevented him from pushing for any transfer.

"My answer in that moment was Barcelona and I still think that I wasn't wrong, because it is a dream I have had since I was a child. I am happy about the whole episode. It couldn't be,
but I still think it was a good opportunity, but I am happy in Arsenal, I have a leadership role."

Despite his desire to move to the Catalan giants, Fabregas has the utmost respect for his current club and its devoted set of fans. He also stated how he spoke to Wenger about the possibility
of a move, but that the Frenchman denied his player the transfer. Fortunately, there seems to be no hard feelings between the player and his manager, despite the blocked move.

"The truth is that the coach is like a second father, I did not have to lie. I told him what I thought. They were difficult moments. Everything was diluted during the World Cup but he
did not want me out of there. In the end, when I spoke with Wenger, he told me that the transfer was impossible," Fabregas claimed.
There will no doubt be another approach for the player next summer, and it seems to be only a matter of time before he makes the move. But he is a loyal and respectable player, and will
not force his way out of the door. It is clear he acknowledges the faith shown in him by the manager and the fans, and doesn't feel comfortable throwing it back in their faces as soon as the opportunity arises.
