Chachamaidee to swing back into form for the Bet365 Lennox Stakes
The field that gets lined up for the Group 2 is not exactly what the Group 2 Bet365 Lennox Stakes has been successful in pulling together. Not every entry has won or been a part of the Group 1 company. The race at Goodwood will be held over seven furlongs
on Tuesday, 31st July.
The five-year-old Irish bay mare, Chachamaidee, who has raced in graded races ever since the last seven outings, ranging from Grade 1 to Grade 3, takes the lead. Only two of those outings fall under the 2012 calendar.
Footstepsinthesand’s daughter won the Group 3 Betfred Mobile Chartwell Fillies’ Stakes on 12th May, 2012 at Lingfield over seven furlongs. It was almost within an eye blink that the bay mare made up for the lost ground and won the race. In the
field of thirteen, the joint favourite was tenth with last pair and with the final furlong remaining, still had quite a bit to do.
She took a left before entering the final furlong and remained strong in it, taking command and winning the race by 1 ¼ lengths. The Sir Henry Cecil trained was paired up with jockey, Tom Queally.
Night Lily settled as the runner-up and was soon followed by, Dysphonia.
Bagging the smartest start of the season, the five-year-old bay mare out of mare, Canterbury Lace, held an entry in the Group 2 Windsor Forest Stakes on 20th June, 2012 at the Ascot race course over a mile.
The only apparent factor that kept her from claiming the second outing of the season was the weak start and lack of willingness to race initially. She broke out of the eleventh stall with ride, Tom Queally.
She burst into speed when there remained the final two furlongs to race over and gave a hard time to the eventual winner, Joviality, inside the final furlong, letting her win only by a neck’s margin.
The third attempt of the Irish bay mare is yet again in a graded race and the 7 to 4 entry will have to avoid making a sluggish break so as to keep the competition from overriding her right at the beginning of the race.
She will share the second stall with jockey, Tom Queally.
