Chad Dawson: For me it is all or nothing, I am going to give it all or die trying – Boxing news
The former World Boxing Council’s, International Boxing Federation’s and International Boxing Organisation’s light heavyweight champion, Chad Dawson, is desperate to get into the ring against the current World Boxing Council’s and the Ring Magazine’s Light Heavyweight champion, Bernard Hopkins, for his lost title.
The Executioner, Hopkins, will make his first historic title defence against the former titleholder and mandatory challenger, Chad Dawson, on October 15, 2011 at the Staples Center in Las Vegas, Nevada and Dawson feels he has been given with a lifeline.
Moreover, this is going to be Dawson’s first Pay-Per-View fight. Therefore, he is very excited about it.
Dawson said, “I'm excited about my first pay-per-view fight. I have always wanted this fight. I have been chasing this fight for three years.”
Dawson claimed he will be in the best shape of his life on the fight night as he does not want to give Hopkins any chance. Dawson revealed it has always been his dream to be under the main lights and this is the opportunity for him.
While speaking on his inclusion, “Bernard better be on his A-game that night because I am going to be on mine. I am excited to be here. I feel better than ever. I'm problem free and stress free. I'm a new Chad. This is my ultimate dream. I'm excited.”
Hopkins has declared a lot ahead of the bout against Dawson. However the 29-year-old Dawson, who has won 30 of his 32 professional fights (1 no contests), with 17 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, responded to Hopkins by saying anyone can do trash talk, as it only sells the fight on Pay-Per-View and nothing else.
Dawson remarked, “He can talk smack as much as he wants. Trash talking sells pay-per-view. I can trash talk, but I just don't. For me it's all or nothing. I'm going to give it all or die trying.”
