  1. I think Dawson would beat Tarver but the other two are up in the air for me. His fight with Glen Johnson was a lot closer than the scorecards indicated. I had it a draw or Johnson by one point depending on how one scored a certain round. Hopkins would lose the early rounds but come on strong in the later half of the fight probably a little more convincingly than Johnson. Roy Jones at this point in his career is a big question mark. I wouldn't be surprised either way.

  2. Youth is the deciding factor against Roy Jones, and I think Dawson would take Roy out late by KO.  Jones is simply selling his hall of fame name, his skills are a shadow of his former status.  Roy really should retire.

Tarver lost to a much small, older Hopkins, and odds are good Dawson would out work Tarver, much the same way Glen Johnson did.  In spite of two wins over Jones, and a win over Johnson and now Woods, Tarver still has never really reached the status of universal respect most champions enjoy in some boxing circles.  I think Dawson takes this one by decision.

Bernard Hopkins is still dangerous, and if Hopkins can get by Calzaghe, he, even at age 43 would prove the biggest threat to Dawson.  It depends on how much Hopkins has left in the tank.  Skill wise Hopkins can still beat anybody in the world, except father time.  I think Calzaghe timed this one just right, and with the clock ticking, age would weigh even more heavily in Dawson's favor.  Dawson by decision in this one as well.

  3. Dont look at last night's close decision and think Dawson is a slouch.  Johnson is top five or 6 in the LHW division and Dawson was still able to escape with a win, even though it was extremely close.

Bernard Hopkins would be an interesting fight, but Bernard would have to fight his urges to stay on the outside against Dawson, because Johnson showed that you have to close distance on Dawson.  Hopkins has a superior jab to what Johnson showed last night, and that spells trouble for Chad.  Hopkins slow deliberate pace would certainly play in Dawson's favor in that he wouldnt feel the constant pressure that he faced last night and against Adamek.  In the end I would just side with the youth of Dawson outworking and out manuevering the older Hopkins..........

Antonio Tarver reasserted himself against class competition last night erasing the memory of the Muriqi & Santiago fights.  This is another fighter who fights at a very slow pace.  He is close to the same height as Dawson, something Chad isnt used to.  Tarver also has a good jab to give Dawson problems, and very good power off the 1-2.  I think Dawson's handspeed and combinations would help him out here, since handspeed is usually an advantage Tarver usually counts on.  Tarver's best chance would be to KO Dawson, since I think Dawson would win if it went to a decision.

Roy Jones would be the easiest of the opponents, Jones no longer has the reflexes to dart in and get out before he gets countered.  Dawson would be able to find holes in Jones new more conventional defense.  I'd probably pick Dawson via late TKO.

  4. Roy Jones?? what hes been done,

Bernard Hopkins a Morden day LEGEND hes to old to

fight young fresh  25 yr olds.

Chad Dawson Vs. Antonio Tarver is the fight that

WILL and NEEDS to happen, its been 2 years in the making

  5. Chad Dawson beats all three.  Tarver was visibly gasping for air between rounds of his last fight, RJJ and BHop are both too old to be relevant in the game anymore.

Truth is, and I have been saying this for a long time, that both RJJ and BHop should have the good sense to retire sooner rather than later.

The only fight to be made out of the three would be with Tarver and Dawson stops Tarver, and hopefully that will be the last we see of Tarver.

  6. The only reason the fans got so upset was because they all seen an old fighter give a good fight, and Johnson fed off the audiences reaction and started to complain. Which made people think "WOW if the audience and Johnson  are so upset then he must have been robbed" But I had Dawson ahead by 3 rounds. I thought Dawson fought an awesome fight and showed tremendous heart.

The boos were totally uncalled for, and Johnsons rant after the fight made me lose the respect I had for him. Dawson gave a good account of himself and showed composure in the post fight interview.

This was the biggest toughest test in his short career, a huge step up and a huge gamble that he didn’t have to take, and he did. And against a veteran like Johnson who has awesome power and is super aggressive and has beaten Tarver and Jones.

Dawson went toe to toe with Johnson gave the fans a show he didn’t have too, he could have easily stayed outside and fought a boring fight and won a decision. But he didn’t do that, he fought Johnsons fight for almost the whole fight and beat Johnson. I was super impressed with Dawson, he earned my respect in the gutsy way he stood toe to toe with one of the biggest punchers in the division and took some huge shots from Johnson and fired right back.

He didn’t have to fight that fight, he fought it to show that he could do it and give the fans a show. And they booed him for it, BOOOOO on the audience.

I have to see how Hopkins looks against Calzaghe before i would make a prediction because at his age he can easily age over night.

I think he would Ko Tarver within 6 rounds for the first time in Tarvers career.

Depends on what Jones shows up and what he has left.
