Chad Tracy’s shines as Colorado Rockies defeat Texas Rangers 11-10 – MLB Update

Chad Tracy put in a decent performance as the Colorado Rockies beat Texas Rangers 11-10 at Surprise Stadium in Arizona on March 16.
Tracy, a catcher for the Texas Rangers had a big individual striking band against the Colorado Rockies. The streak initiated with an impressive knock two years ago and Tracy kept it energetic with a double in a Cactus League game during past spring season.
Rangers’ manager Ron Washington said, "I hope tonight he walks up to that plate, gets a hit and makes his dad proud. He's certainly getting better over at first base. We know he can swing the bat, but the good thing for him is the improvements he's shown
at first base."
Tracy, a third-round Draft choice in 2006, has not got his place to the Major Leagues. He is in the squad as a non-roster player, after some substantial delays during last season and will almost not to be in the Opening Day roster. He can strike but is still
searching for a spot. He was selected as a catcher but will expect to play as a first baseman and designated hitter.
He had a hitting average of .263 with 17 homers and 55 RBIs in 79 games at Triple-A Oklahoma City when a stressed leaning muscle ended his season. He also had an injury in his right shoulder which seems to be bothering him.
Tracy was suitable for the Rule 5 Draft in the Winter Meetings, but the Rockies approved. They have Todd Helton as a first baseman with Jason Giambi and Ty Wigginton as replacement. If the Rockies had appointed Tracy, then it would have been the initial
time he plays baseball for his Dad.
Speaking to media reporters, Tracy stated that, "I never played for him in baseball but I did in basketball. He coached me and my brother in sixth, seventh and eighth grade at a small Catholic school in Florida. But in baseball he was always away doing his
thing."
The Rockies put in a brilliant performance as they managed to slug it out with the Rangers. Texas will be happy with their performance, as they fought hard and lost by only one run.
