Chael Sonnen, the only man with the ability and guts to nail Anderson Silva – UFC Feature
Chael Sonnen, the number two middleweight in the world of mixed martial art truly possesses the ability to end the reign of a man who has obliterated many men and has collected wins over almost all the middleweights available in UFC, Anderson Silva, the
current UFC middleweight champion.
When it comes to understanding the fact that as to who is the best middleweight in the world, undoubtedly one name resonates in the minds of all the mixed martial art fanatics, Anderson Silva. But interestingly, alongside the Brazilian’s name one name also
pops up in people’s mind Chael Sonnen.
Chael, 35, is the only man in the whole of UFC’s middleweight division who reached an inch-closer in nailing Anderson Silva in his last battle. The clash that not only won the fight of the night award but also the fight of the year award as well, the bout
which stunned the UFC fans all around the world.
The bout in which a man (Chael) was able to connect a punch to Anderson’s face, the bout in which everyone saw Silva get tense at how the things were going, and the bout in which Silva got flattened on the octagon floor after a long time.
In a nutshell, a battle that truly witnessed Chael’s true potential as a worthy opponent for Anderson Silva since he became the only man in the world who was able to thwart Silva’s every move except the one in which he got caught inadvertently.
Sonnen, who was leading on all the score cards, unfortunately, lost the bout by getting locked in Silva’s armbar submission. The interesting facet is that he did not tap out easily in fact resisted for a pretty long time and later on when was unable to power
bomb Silva, submitted.
Chael got real boost after his Silva-bout so much so that he became the only person in front of whom Silva placed his title on the ring floor and bowed with great respect acknowledging that he has the guts, the ability, the resilience, the urge, desire,
motivation and talent to nail him.
Sonnen has been in a total 39 bouts in his career and has won 27 of them. He has nailed seven of his opponents by knockout, four by submission, and 16 by either unanimous or split decision. Sonnen follows a straight forward style and evades the ground game
of submission.
He loves to fight upfront and takes the opponent to the end of the bout despite getting beaten up brutally. When we say that Sonnen is a man who can nail Anderson – it is true since he was the only individual who did the unthinkable.
Silva was famous for being untouchable and Chael broke that legend quite brutally. The last bout between the two is enough proof of the fact that Sonnen can grab a win if he counters Silva’s submission tactics.
In addition, Sonnen has nailed almost all other men in the division just like Silva and the only man left in the division is the champion himself. A glance at resume of both men shows that Sonnen boasts win over a man who nailed Silva in the start of his
career.
Sonnen collected a unanimous decision win over Yushin Okami, the man who nailed Silva in his first encounter. Similarly, we have Demian Maia who nailed Sonnen but was pinned by Silva. The reason for this comparison is the fact that Sonnen just needs to cater
one or two facets and then there is no force in the world which can halt him in becoming the future middleweight champion and in pinning Anderson Silva ‘The Spider’.
Chael jabbers a lot of gibberish and irks people by his insolent attitude but at the end of the day the only man who truly has the potential is none other than but Chael Sonnen. The upcoming UFC 148 headline event will definitely be nominated again the bout
of the year.
