Chael Sonnen believes Jon Jones should have moved to heavyweight – UFC News
Chael Sonnen will be facing light heavyweight champion Jon Jones as an opposing coach in the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter. Chael Sonnen, who has built a fan base by verbally attacking and disgracing every champion out there, believes Jones should
have gone for the heavyweight division when he had the chance.
“I don't know. Here's the bottom line, he should not have been pressured into this. I did everything I could to warn this guy. I told him ‘Hey I'm coming to the division' and he should have packed up and left it. He talked about going to heavyweight and
he should have done it because now he's waited too long and the man has arrived,” said Sonnen.
Sonnen has already challenged middleweight champion Anderson Silva twice and has lost. For some reason, he believes he can defeat Jon Jones, who many believe is the younger version of Silva. If Sonnen could not defeat Silva how can he defeat Jones? Well,
apparently Sonnen is of the view that Jones is an easy kill unlike Silva.
“What you need to know, Todd, and what Jon already knows, is that I got the biggest arms, I got the greatest charm and I do the most harm. I'm better than Jon Jones."
But, this was not it for Sonnen. He could not resist the urge of assaulting Jones verbally, something the American Gangster is known for. So, he went on calling Jones a 'leprechaun'.
Sonnen wants to face Jones in the cage but the light heavyweight champion believes it cannot happen until Sonnen goes through the proper channel. For some reason, Sonnen is confident that Jones is his bag of potatoes that he can beat and move away with the
title.
It should be noted here that Jones is currently not in the mood to face Sonnen at any cost. It was due to the same issue that UFC 151 had to go into cancellation. If Jones wanted, he could have saved the card by accepting a fight against Sonnen at UFC 151.
If he did not do it back then why would he do it now?
