Chael Sonnen hopeful of Ronda Rousey beating Rampage Jackson – UFC News
UFC fighter Chael Sonnen, king of trash-talking, believes Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey is capable of beating former UFC champion Rampage Jackson. Sonnen, who is known for throwing the worst verbal shots at his opponents, has been
in a gruesome war of words with Rampage Jackson, and now he plans on taking things even further with his comments.
Reports of Ronda Rousey signing with UFC are already emerging and most fighters are excited to see WMMA being introduced to the organisation. She holds the record of submitting all of her opponents in round one of her fights with her signature armbar move.
She is an undefeated bantamweight contender in Strikeforce, who probably has inspired UFC president Dana White to bring WMMA to UFC.
“I'd like to congratulate Ronda Rousey on becoming a pioneer in this sport. It's well deserved and overdue. Looks like Mitt Romney has a new favorite fighter and Rampage Jackson has another opponent he can't beat,” said Chael Sonnen in an interview with
TMZ.
It should be noted here that Ronda Rousey’s advent in UFC is not yet confirmed by the officials, even though several reports suggesting her welcoming have emerged. If fighters like Chael Sonnen are talking about it then the rumours must have weight.
For now, Sonnen is scheduled to face light heavyweight champion Jon Jones at The Ultimate Fighter season 17 next year. While Sonnen heads towards the path of glory, many other fighters of the division are offended with the American Gangster scoring title
shots with his ‘tongue’. Among all was Rampage Jackson who came up saying that Sonnen is unworthy of the title shot and that he only scores major fights with his trash-talking.
Not just Jackson, even fighters like Lyoto Machida and Dan Henderson believe they should have been given the chance to fight Jones instead of Sonnen. According to them, they have fought their way up to become the top contenders in the division. However,
president Dana White believes both fighters were given the chance but they refused to accept it. According to White, Dan Henderson backed out due to an injury for UFC 151 and Lyoto Machida was not willing to face Jones at UFC 152.
