Chael Sonnen on facing Anderson Silva: I will find a way to win like I always do – UFC News
Chael Sonnen is just two weeks away from the biggest match of his career. The American mixed martial arts fighter believes that he will conquer Silva this time. In his recent interview, Sonnen spoke confidently about his strategies to defeat Silva. According
to the American fighter, Silva does not have anything special in him.
He added, “Make it a boxing match, I'll find a way to win. Make it a kickboxing match, I'll find a way to win. I'm not gonna play a dance off with him, but if he wants to make it a combative man's sport, I'll do it. Make it a jiu-jitsu match, make it a wrestling
match, make it an MMA fight -- it doesn't matter. He doesn't have anything that I as an athlete won't conquer. I am a competitor. I will find a way to win like I always do.”
Sonnen last fought Anderson at UFC 117 back in 2010. Sonnen was leading the show just when Silva managed to make him submit. Just seconds away from the end of the fight, Sonnen tapped out. Overall, Sonnen had put up a great competition for Silva but unfortunately
he lost. This time, Sonnen believes it is time for him to walk away with the title, his all time dream.
Both the fighters will face each other at UFC 148 on July 7. This will be a rematch, their second encounter after Sonnen’s 2010 defeat.
While on one hand Sonnen believes he can be victorious, most analysts believe Silva will again walkout with the title. Even president of UFC Dana White believes Silva is the greatest fighter of all time and that Sonnen cannot beat him. However, White surely
thinks that Sonnen is a gifted fighter and different from others. Last week, in an interview, White praised Sonnen’s potential and skills as an MMA fighter, calling him someone who can end Silva’s reign if he fights sensibly. According to White, Sonnen is
determined and he is not afraid of Silva, like most fighters are. His not being is his plus factor, which can be an upset for Silva in the ring, White added.
