Chael Sonnen once again disrespects Anderson Silva – UFC News
As promised, UFC president Dana White announced the venue for the rematch between Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen. Dana White along with both the fighters held a press conference in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil today to announce relocation of the event from Brazil
to Las Vegas. Now, the event that was supposed to be held in Brazil will take place in Las Vegas on July 7 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
The most fascinating thing of the press conference was the fact that even though Sonnen was present in Anderson’s home country, he was not afraid to utter words of disrespect towards him. Talking about his attitude towards Silva, which many believe has been
very degrading, Sonnen said, “I don't' know man, this guy says the craziest things, he is surrounded by such yes men and it's unbelievable that he actually thinks like that. He talks about his legacy, he is so close to the trees that he can't see the forest.
Come to America and ask people what they think of him. I mean this guy is the real deal, wow, he became the number one contender when he beat up the great Chris Leben, he then defended his belt against the great Patrick Cote and the amazing Thales Leites,
what a star this guy is.”
Sonnen further said that there was a time when he even disrespected Anderson’s family but the champion did not do much about it because he was afraid. He even said that Anderson could not do anything about it back then and he will not do anything about it
on July 7 as well. Sonnen advised Silva to get some excuses ready because he will be beaten badly in the ring. He added that in their first fight he told everyone that Silva’s skills are not even close to his and he is still affirmative about his previous
statement.
According to Sonnen, he has been waiting for this moment for six years now and that this time, unlike their last fight, he will not leave any loopholes.
Both the men will now fight in Las Vegas at the grandest stage of all, the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
