Chael Sonnen talks about Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson – UFC News
Chael ‘American Gangster’ Sonnen spoke to MMA Uncensored Live, commenting on Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson. Sonnen, who belongs to West Linn, believes Rampage Jackson is ‘stupid’.
“If stupidity was a disease that was treatable by medicine, ‘Rampage' would be the first one in line at the pharmacy, every morning. If ‘Rampage' wants to fight with me, let's fight! But, the reality is, he's on a two-fight losing streak, he can't make weight,
nobody cares about him, he doesn't keep his word, and he's out of the company in a matter of months. If he wants to fight, I accept,” said Sonnen, the American Gangster.
Sonnen also spoke about his loss to Anderson Silva, the current UFC middleweight champion. Sonnen lost to Silva by knockout in the second round, even though he looked better than ever.
Sonnen’s loss came as a shock to his fans and the entire UFC fraternity. Even President of UFC Dana White was disappointed with Sonnen’s performance, since the American Gangster had built up extraordinary hype for the showdown.
For now, Sonnen is unsure of his future. His manager believes he should either retire or move to another division, whereas Dana White believes Sonnen is a huge UFC star, therefore there is no pressure on him.
When asked if he is looking forward to fight another foe in the same division, Sonnen replied, “I'm not after the second one. I love Rich Franklin. I think he's done an awesome job. That's not for me. I'm in it purely for the championship, and if I don't
have a clear road to the title, I'm gonna move on.”
Sonnen’s main goal right now is to recover from the loss that has damaged his reputation and his well being. He believes there are chances of a third encounter with Silva but after a year or so.
In an interview last week, Dana White came up saying that there are chances of Chael Sonnen taking on Silva once again, as fans love them fighting. However, there is nothing sure right now. Silva might face Bisping or Weidman depending on the circumstances
develop.
