Question:

Chainsaw Bar Lube Oil Leaking

I purchased a used chainsaw. Started and ran fine when the guy sold it to me. When I got home and filled it with chain lube, it leaked out as fast as I poured it in. I removed the cover, chain and bar. The bottom of the mounting bar plate was sheared off and the chain catcher was also missing a chunk out of it. I can see the where the lube is leaking from when I removed the mounting bar plate. It looks to be about a 1/8 inch diameter hole where the lube is probably supposed to come out of. The hole is not threaded so it does not look like a s***w of any type was initially in it. The problem is that the hole is wide open with no kind of check valve or anything else in it regulating the amount of lube. Is this supposed to be this way? Do all I need is a new mounting bar plate to fix the problem or is there something else missing from inside the lube's holding tank? Thanks
