Chairman PCB, Ijaz Butt to meet the ICC top officials during the Lords Test
Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB, Subhan Ahmed has said that PCB has not completely rejected the proposals of International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Pakistan Task Team.
The COO said that some of the proposals made by the task team are really in the interest of the sport in the country and PCB is seriously looking at those recommendations to be implemented soon.
There are reports that ICC is planning to send the task team to Pakistan so that they can witness the ground realities in a country, which has been deprived of international cricket since last couple of years because of security threats.
However, Subhan could not verify those reports at the present moment and said that ICC has not informed the cricket officials in Pakistan as yet about this topic.
Subhan said, "So far we have no official intimation about the Task Team visiting Pakistan soon, but at Lord's this could be discussed by the ICC and the Task Team with our chairman. The constructive recommendations and proposals by the
task team which are good for Pakistan cricket are under consideration.”
ICC’s task team suggested that there should not be any political interference in the PCB and it seems quite a justified opinion as the appointment of the Chairman PCB has been questioned a number of times in past and this is about time
that the cricket officials in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 start to chose their boss in a democratic manner.
The COO also revealed that the Chairman PCB, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 at Lords from the 21st till
the 25th of July. Butt is also going to talk to the ICC officials regarding the task team’s recommendations.
"The chairman will be going to Lord's, although there is no formal meeting scheduled there. But it is likely he will have informal discussions with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Charles-Giles-Clarke-c49957, the
head of the Task Team, and some of its members," he added.
