The Moroccan striker has had a tough time at Arsenal but he sees a silver lining at the club if Robin Van Persie chooses to part ways with the Gunners because it will result in more first team opportunities for the former French
league star...
The former Bordeaux star has found it hard to adapt to life in the English Premier League after arrival at Arsenal from the French club in 2010. Chamakh was seen as a perfect tonic for Arsenal as they needed a striker who could
step in and make himself count when Robin Van Persie was injured.
However things haven’t turned out the way the Moroccan striker would’ve wanted them to. Chamakh remains on the fringes of Arsene Wenger’s squad and his performances for the club have only merited such a treatment as they have been
unimpressive to the say least.
However amidst all the uncertainty that taints the Emirates stadium for the time being with speculation rife on the futures of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Theo-Walcott-c34873, Chamakh has iterated that he is determined to prove himself
at the club.
If Van Persie does indeed part ways with the club, then the responsibility will fall on Chamakh to make things happen for himself at Arsenal. Currently Chamakh is a part of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429’s squad for their pre-season tour of Far East
and surprisingly he is the only first team striker to go along with the squad as Van Persie opted to stay back in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749.
He said, "Yes. If I am staying here with Arsenal I will do my best for the team and give the maximum. Last season was difficult. We were playing with just one striker. There was not a lot I could do. I was upset because I thought
I could have played more. I hope this season I will play more than last.”
Chamakh added, "I have not spoken to the manager but I will soon. Yes, I need to be more confident. But to be more confident I need to play more. I am determined to stay." The coming season will be a good test for the former French
league striker’s temperament. If he indeed fires on all cylinders then Wenger will grant him a well deserved first team spot but he will need to compete with new comers such as Podolski to achieve such a feat.
