Chaminda Vass hints at quitting international cricket
The Sri Lankan medium-pacer http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Chaminda-Vaas-c1223, disappointed over his snubbing from the World Cup squad, has said that he is considering options of quitting international cricket.
"I haven't finally decided, but I will make my mind up after the World Cup whether to retire from international matches."
Vaas, who will turn 37 on the 27th of this month, had repeatedly stated that his aim was to play in the mega cricketing event starting from 19 February 2011 in the subcontinent and was picked in Sri Lanka’s 30-man preliminary
World Cup squad. But the left-arm medium fast bowler failed to make the cut in the final 15-man squad. He conceded that his performance has not been impressive in the recent past.
"I tried my best, but my performances have not been good enough to get me selected," said Vaas in an interview with a leading news channel. "I wish the team very good luck and hope they bring the World Cup back to Sri Lanka again,"
added the dejected Sri Lankan.
Vaas has been remarkable in the ongoing Sri Lanka domestic one-day tournament where he picked eight wickets for Colts Cricket Club in three matches at 7.13 over the past week. He also had a successful 2010 Friends Provident t20 tournament
