Champagne Fever in for an all new racing avenues
The Willie Mullins trained, Champagne Fever, has progressed through the two seasons in a manner that the connections are at the crucial stage of picking options and events which will enhance his profile and make him grow as a racing legend soon.
After his highly impressive accomplishment of dual graded successes, the five-year-old grey gelding is pointed for either the Bar One Racing Royal Bond Novice Hurdle at Fairyhouse on 2nd December and also has on the list the Navan Novice Hurdle two weeks from now.
Stowaway’s Irish grey gelding is unbeaten in the four seasonal outings, and is now scaling up on the level of races which he has been dominant in.
Champagne Fever, the favourite entry was prevalent in the Nina Carberry – Meath Sportsperson Of The Year 2011 INH Flat Race on 22nd January, 2012 at Fairyhouse over two miles.
This one he had settled against his name as success by amazing thirteen lengths.
The grey gelding out of, Forever Bubbles, extended his form in the Grade 1 Weatherbys Champion Bumper on 14th March, 2012 at Cheltenham race course over two miles and half a furlong.
He set the favourite entry of the race, New Year’s Eve, by 1 ¼ lengths.
He did not wait for very long to strike a hat-trick, winning the Grade 1 betchronicle.com Champion INH Flat Race on 25th April, 2012 at Punchestown over two miles.
His most recent shot was in the I.N.H Stallion Owners European Breeders Fund Maiden Hurdle on 18th November, 2012 at Cork over two miles.
"He's come out of his race well. He's entered in the Royal Bond and the hurdle at Navan," Mullins told At The Races.”
"He'll go for one of the two, but the two and a half (mile) race at Navan would be the more obvious one.”
"We'll see how he comes out of his last race and what is going to run before making a final decision."
The connections are far more interested in the option at Navan, the distance is aligned with the form of their under charge, and his performance in the race will give the connections a fair idea about where to point the gelding in the future.
The step-up in the level will coincide with the raise in the intensity of the competition.
