Champagne Fever steals the show in the Betchronicle.com Champion INH Flat Race
The W.P. Mullins trained, Champagne Fever, entered the Grade 1 Betchronicle.com Champion INH Flat Race with the determination to prove himself on the track, as he raced with odds of 11 to 4.
Paired with jockey, P. W. Mullins, the five-year-old gelding was sent as the favourite, as he conquered the track at Punchestown on 25th April, 2012.

The duo gained pace and maintained their composure throughout the race.
This tactic worked wonders for the pair, as the son of Stowaway, out of mare Forever Bubbles, finished by a landslide difference of 7 ½ lengths ahead of the runner-up, Melodic Rendezvous.
The third place was secured by Mozoltov, who is also trained by Mullins as he fell 1 ¼ lengths behind the Jeremy Scott trained runner-up.
The winning trainer was immensely delighted with the victory of Champagne Fever as he stated to the press that: Mullins said:

"Champagne Fever is a super horse. Patrick [Mullins] said he was only idling coming up the straight he and that he had plenty left in the tank and I know our third horse is a good horse.
"He just gallops all day he obviously stays well, he jumps well so he's one we're really looking forward to.
"He has huge ability and I have considered going straight over fences with him. We could do what we did with Florida Pearl."
Florida Pearl was a Mullins trained gelding, who was whelped on 21st April, 1992.

The bay gelding landed an immense victory in the Grade 3 Normans Grove Chase at Fairyhouse on 18th January, 2004, after he finished fifth at Punchestown.
Champagne Fever, the grey gelding, is performing extremely well, and he has a bright future ahead of him as he has already added some brilliant victories to his record.

Since his career began on 24th April, 2011, he has competed in five starts and secured four victories, along with one finish as a runner up.
Bred by John P. Cahill, the runner aced the Grade 1 Weatherbys Champion Bumper (Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race) at the Cheltenham Festival on 14 March, as he defeated race favourite, New Year’s Eve by a 1 ¼ lengths.
