Champion Bubba eyes another major title win while heading for the US Open
The reigning Masters Champion Bubba Watson is eyeing another major win, while he heads for the US Open at the Olympic Club, scheduled to start from Thursday, June 14, 2012.
Watson learned the game of golf naturally, while playing on the golf courses and creating his own shots.
After reaching San Francisco, he talked to the media and said that he always loved to play the game of golf and tried making different shots.
"I just play golf because I love it. I love the surprise of the different shots," he told a news conference before the Memorial in Dublin, Ohio, two weeks ago, his final warm-up for the July 14-17 U.S. Open.
"I hit in the trees a lot, so I try to make it through those gaps. I'm just having fun with the game of golf and if people love it, that's great".
According to the golf commentators, Watson’s life has completely changed after the first major victory of his career.
However, he has yet to prove if there is any difference in his game when he will tee off at the second major event of the year.
"There is a lot of stuff still going on in my life," said Watson, who along with his wife Angie adopted a one-month-old boy named Caleb in March. "Dealing with a major championship is a totally different level".
He is also very concerned about his family, especially after he adopted Caleb and became a father.
Following his win at Augusta National, he took a few weeks off prior to making a return to the game.
However, it was not the best decision, as he tied for the 18th position at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, followed by a missed cut in the Memorial Tournament.
Now is the time when he needs to focus completely on his game, as the US Open is just a couple of days away and he definitely has the odds in his favour at this year’s event.
For this, he arrived early at the venue of the tournament compared to other participants and told that he wanted to have complete information about the course before the tournament begins officially.
