Champions League Goal Summary: Bayern Munich vs Manchester City
Manchester City travelled to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 to take on Bayern Munich at the Allianz arena in the UEFA Champions League.
Going into the game, City were brimming with confidence and were more than hopeful of coming away with all three points.
However, with Munich already having had a brilliant start to their season and that coupled with their European experience meant that City would really have to push themselves to get anything out from the game.
The match kicked off with City looking to take the game to Munich early on and with the home side trying to adjust to the threat that the City offensive line possessed.
As the match progressed, Munich started to take a hold of things and strung together a number of passes. They also went on to create a number of chances of their own and seemed to be on the brink of breaking the resilient City defence.
After a lot of attacking and defending from both the teams, the break through finally came on the 38th minute.
Ribery, who was having the game of this life, took a pop at goal. The winger’s initial effort was blocked by Hart and the ball fell into the path of Muller. However, Hart once again made a brilliant save and denied Munich a goal. Unfortunately for him, the
ball fell into the path of Gomez, who had the simplest of tasks of tapping the ball into the back of an empty net.
Just before the end of the half, Munich doubled their lead. In the 46th minute, Kroos bent in a brilliant free kick, which saw Van Buyten attempt a header at goal. Hart made a brilliant save from the header, but saw the ball deflect into the path
of Gomez, who doubled his tally, as he scored his and Munich’s second goal of the game.
After the break, Munich turned the game completely around. The home side were attacking City from the start. They gave the English side very little to no breathing space and as a result, managed to successfully defend their two goal lead and secured all
three points from the game.
