Question:

Champions League - IPL or State / County?

Lalit Modi has stated that IPL teams will have the decision as to whether players turn out for their adopted franchise or state/county. Wasn't it earlier agreed by all involved, that state teams would have the have priority?

Think of the conflict of interest; take Hussey for example. He's played for WA for his entire career, and now will most likely be told he has to turn out for Chennai instead of his home team. Even the most mercenary of players would be more than a little annoyed at having the decision made for them.

Is it just me or would you be more than tempted to throw your wicket away?

What are your thoughts?

  1. If team IPL recalls a player, they have to pay a hefty amount to the country/ State for the player.

Like,  KKR was planning to get McCullum back. it was for some 250 crores $ that NZ had agreed to send him.

it also depends upon the player. Surely, he has a say for his country. means, when country decides, he may be a part of the decision.

  2. Players were required to get No objection Certificate from thheir respective Board to play in IPL.  Hence it is upto the respective cricket Board of the country to decide asto whether a particular player has to be released for playing in IPL.

  3. lalit modi is dividing the cricket community mark my words England created cricket, Australia raise it and India will kill it. ICC should ban India
