Champions League Match: Milan - Auxerre Second Half Report
After the first half of the UEFA Champions League match between A.C Milan and A J Auxerre, the first bout ended in an unexpected 0-0 draw even though both the team entered the ground in the second half with more aggressive mind-sets. San Siro was completely
noisy as the fans were backing their team with all the efforts. Even every single short pass was being admired by the Rossenerri Fans. Without a doubt, the first five minutes of the second half belonged to the away side Auxerre as they kept the most of the
possession and constantly attacked the Italian Giants. This attacking display failed to find any goal for the French side.
Meanwhile, it was also a good defensive display from the Milan players, mostly notably Alessandro Nesta. The heart of Milan once again proved himself as the controller of the game. He managed to keep the hard working French side out of the box. Nonetheless
after 55 minutes mark, it was all Milan on the pitch, as the Red and Blacks started to attack heavily and kept dominating the Auxerre.
In the 55th minute, Pato got some knock on his feet while running so he was injured and none other than Robinho came in his place. Robinho, who was captured by the Milan on the final day of this summer transfer window, played his first ever match
at San Siro in Milan colours. There was an overwhelming response from the crowd when he stepped in. Despite being a left winger, he played on the right side where Pato was playing.
Moreover, Italian midfielder Andre Pirlo managed to provide a superb through pass to Ibrahimovic, but it went all in vain because the former Inter man was not able to hold on to that pass. In essence all men including Ronaldinho, Seedorf, or Pirlo, Milan
was totally dominating the game but sadly none of them were able to net the ball so far.
With a time, Milan was efficiently creating chances. Most notably a heading chance was missed by Ghana midfielder Kevin Prince. It was a superb cross from Italian left back Zambrotta. Prince had contact with the ball but wasn’t able to put inside the bars.
After a series of attacks from both the sides, it was the Italian who clinched the chance in the 67th minute and converted it into a goal: all thanks to Ibracadabra for his stylish goal after a wonderful chip pass from the Ronaldinho to Robinho
and Robinho headed it towards Ibrahimovic, who had all the time in the world to put the ball into the net which he did. What a team goal it was!
It was a moment to watch at San Siro. Eighty thousand fans were on their feet as their team scored the first goal. It was the goal which finally put smiles on the faces of all the Milan fans who were disappointed after the last shocking loss against
Casena.
It was the matter of only three minutes that Milan again scored. Again Ibrahimovic, the incredible scored for the Red and Blacks. It was truly a perfect finish, after getting a classy pass from the living legend Ronaldinho as he placed it perfectly into
the bottom corner of the far post.
The match ended 2-0 in favour of Italian Giants Milan. This was a crucial win for the Italian team indeed for which they indeed were desperate after the horrifying defeat in the hands of the newly promoted Casena. Now Fans should celebrate two superb strikes
from Ibrahivomic and expect for more in near future. San Siro fans got what had been missing at the Club after the departure of Kaka. This win will surely put pressure on the other clubs in this group of death.
